You Can Learn Many Things From a Child...

...Like how much patience you have, for instance!
As a member of the LDS church, each of us has a call to serve. I have spent most of my adult life working with the youth 12-18 in various positions as well as in the women's organization. I feel well suited especially to working with young people.

Somehow all these years, I have managed to dodge the bullet in working with the little people in the church. I don't feel that my strength is in working with children. So--imagine my surprise when I was asked to teach the 4 year olds in Primary. I'm spending 2 hours of my Sundays with FOUR YEAR OLDS!!!!!!!

As I looked over the lesson manual, the emphasis for the year is on choosing the right. I decided to make CTR super hero capes for each kiddo to wear in class as long as they were "choosing the right." Check these out!

Last Sunday I got eased in to it because of the 5 children in my class, 3 were out of town and I only had 2 sweet, well behaved little girls. They weren't so interested in being super heroes but loved the idea of being a CTR princess.
Wish me luck...I'm going to need it. And stay tuned, I'm sure I'll have some interesting/funny stories to share.

The capes turned out PERFECT! They're adorable.

Plus...you're FANTASTIC with kids. You have a bazillion creative kid ideas. You can handle two hours a week with 4 year olds.

Did you make the capes? They are adorable! And, I beg to differ, and will go on record as saying I feel certain you will be very well suited to work with the little ones!!! But I wish you good luck nonetheless!!!

Sounds so fun!!! And if they misbehave can the capes double as a gag or to tie the offender up?

I think these capes should be offered church wide, everybody's got a ring, but WHO has a cape???

You will be great in primary! I love the capes. You should talk to my Mom about her stint in teaching the 5 year olds in primary....

Ya--- okay... just like Katie says she isn't good with small children and I didn't buy it- I don't buy it from you either. The capes are proof. I have worked a lot with small children and NEVER would have thought of that. :) You will be awesome!

Well, I am joining you club! I was just called as the Primary President of Citrus Hills ward! Imagine that! But I do love kids and worked with them a lot when my own were young. So here I go again!
