Let it snow!!

Today was an early release day at our elementary school so the parent organization put on a snow party for the students after school.  As it was in the planning stages, it sounded like a recipe for a disaster but I was pleasantly surprised at how smoothly everything went and of course the kiddos had a blast!

Two hours before the event, two big trucks came in and started blowing snow in a section of the parking lot and in another place in the playground.  After school was out, the kids put on the "snow clothes" and went out to play in the snow.  In addition to the pile of snow, there was a big slide that the kids could sled down.

Most of the snow melted within the three hours (as you can see below) so we didn't have to shovel it to have the playground ready again for tomorrow.

For those of you who live in snow areas, I know this seems ridiculous but for us Arizona folks, this is the best we could do to have a White Christmas.

I think that is great! My Mom and Dad did this one year when all of our kids were little! It was fun!!! Hope you are having a nice holiday season!!

That looks fun, especially sledding down the "mountain". I just showed this to Melanie, she remembers when her grade school brought in some snow and she was sick with a raging fever and couldn't go. She claims it was the 'worst day of her life' because she had to miss it.

What a fun idea for a school party! You have a very creative Parent's organization there at your school. Sounds like you are enjoying working there. Have a very Merry Christmas and a wonderful new year!
