The SOUNDS and SMELLS of Christmas

Sounds
Whenever I hear the sound of the Salvation Army bell ringing, I think of my father-in-law, Dean. Dean was a member of the Optimist Club and participated for several years in the bell ringing. From what I understand, he was the largest local money collector for the Salvation Army the years he rang the bell. I remember going shopping at the mall when I first started dating Kevin and there was Dean out in front of Goldwater's, I think, (at Park Central) with a big smile on his face ringing the bell.

Smells

I've already mention that I don't have a real Christmas tree and I miss the smell of Pine in my house through the season. Luckily, the neighborhood florist offers 1/2 off their flowers on Fridays. Today I stopped by to get myself some flowers and they put some pine and cedar boughs along with it. Wow! What a delightful fragrance is filling my house this evening!

I always love the sound of the salvation army bells. I virtually never have cash, but around Christmas, I find myself trying to keep a few dollars cash in my wallet so whenever I come out of a store, I have a dollar or so to put in. There is definitely some great sounds/smells to Christmas!!! :)

You've never told me that Grandpa was a bell ringer. My kids would have loved that. Parker loves the bell ringers. That suits grandpa. You have great Christmas memories. Keep 'em coming.
