Has it really been that long?

March 2010...I was in Utah after "the accident." It was snowing and cold.

We went through spring and summer (sorry, no pictures)

And now it is Fall.

this is a view from a walking path right behind the hospital

Living in Arizona...and California before that, I have really missed out on experiencing fall. This weekend in Utah was delightful with cool, crisp weather and changing leaves. It reminded me of my college days.

With the weather so nice, we loaded Mike up in his wheelchair and took him for a walk. I know you're dying to see pictures, so here goes...

I think this was the end of the walk when he was tired out.
He hardly looks like a guy who has been laying in bed for 7 months, does he? You can tell he's not wasting away.

On Sunday, I told him he needed to work on facial expressions and that I wanted to see a smile. He reached his hand up to his face and moved his lips into a smile then moved his hand. It just cracked me up...he really knew what I was talking about.
It's a slow process but he is moving forward and we are so, so grateful.

Oh I am so glad to hear that Mike is moving forward and making some progress. He looks good in that picture. I am sure it is so hard to believe how long it has been. You guys are all still on my mind so much. Glad to hear of the improvements!!

Is this the walk that he didn't want to go on? ANd to think he would have missed out on that beautiful fall day.

You never told me that smile story. I love it!

I love that he still knows how to crack a joke! He looks great! I know what you mean about the Fall. I LOVE IT! Up here in Minnesota, Fall is in full swing! Actually, the trees are starting to look pretty bare already! So weird!

I know you don't know me. I'm happy to see that he can go in a wheel chair and enjoy the beauty. He's improved a lot since I visited him in July! The Lord is answering prayers...slowly but surely! How is Lisa?
