Today I realized that I know:
- at least 100 new people from where I work,
- lots of new doctors and nurses who are and have been caring for my son,
- 175 new students
- families of people I have met at the hospital
Skype-ing makes me happy. We have finally found a good time to skype (it is difficult with a 3 hour time change and a grandma who works). Katie's kids aren't telephone talkers but put them in front of a camera and they can entertain for hours. They bring out every toy from their rooms and show me every trick they know. I know it's time to hang up when they start putting underwear on their head or some other crazy antic.
We had a crazy rainstorm last night that came out of no where. My pool was a mess and my yard was a mess, but I loved every minute of it. I opened my back door and soaked in the cool weather.
Apparently 2200 songs on my ipod are not enough. That's right, I have 5 1/2 days of music uploaded to my ipod but since I listen to it all day, every day when I work, it doesn't take long to go through it all and I'm tired of it. I need some new tunes.
I'm itching for a new project(s). Anyone have any new ideas for Christmas?
I can tell Fall is here when I can hear Mountain View High School marching band practicing in the mornings. I love it! ( actually I can hear them beginning in September but I have my windows open in October so that's when I begin hearing their morning practices).

Those are some great facts! Christmas projects...hmmmm??? Not yet, but I will.
I emailed you recently. Did you get it?
I love doing webcame calls with my grandchildren also. They love to show me things and we have great visits. Since we have to live so far away, I love that I can SEE and talk to them.
I know what you mean about meeting new people this year. If you move to a far, far away place, everyone in your daily life is new. (But, I especially love that there is a ready-made church "family".)
You have had a busy year-
I am glad you get to see the crazy boys with skyping- it sounds like a comedy hour when you do it, right?!
Love that!!
I am trying not to look at the Christmas decorations at the stores- I want to enjoy fall and Thanksgiving first- but it is so hard! I need a project to keep me busy too- let us know when you decide what yours is!
holy smokes! That's a lot of new people. Nice reminder of how mundane my life is. I don't meet knew people. Unless you count the new clerk at the grocery store. She was a CRANK about my coupons.
I'm not looking for Christmas decorations...ideas for gifts. Help!
I love your perspective on everything. My Christmas projects are not new or clever, but relaxing to work on...fleece blankets. My husband says I may be trying to blanket the world..oh well, we can all use a little warmth. Tiffany wants me to resurrect a pattern I have for cute, cute home sewn pillowcases so she can make some for her kids. They are fun and easy to make and are really cute.
Those were some good random thoughts.
You got me thinking about how many new people I have met this year, and it's is actually quite a lot. Much more than I would have first guessed.
Jake and the girls skype with his mom once in a while. The girls are shy at first on it, and then they warm up to it.
so, I just got my first ever ipod. It has 8 gigs of memory- so you are telling me it won't be enough?? I couldn't imagine ever filling it.... I guess I have a lot to learn about the ipod world...
I have thought that too about people in my life that weren't a year before. Makes you wonder who will be in our lives next year that aren't now?
Your grandsons would certainly be entertaining on skype.... :)
