My craftiness has been lacking lately. In fact, it's almost non-existent! I usually produce several big and small projects over the summer but I don't have much to show this year. I don't know where my energy and motivation have gone but I need to find my groove again. Soon!
Anyway, I did manage to pull off two small projects recently....both in the form of pin cushions. My friend called me one day and said she wanted to take a class at the local scrapbook store (which is quickly becoming a quilt store). We spent a couple of hours in a fun class and this was the finished product:
Then last week, I saw on Olivia's blog that she found these on ETSY and wished she had one.

We decided to try to figure these out ourselves since the ones on ETSY were $20.00 each. She found a tutorial for something similar, we made a run to the store to pick up supplies, and this is the finished product:

She wanted the grapefruit and I did the Kiwi. We had a difficult time finding good colors of felt. These would have been even cuter with felted wool but those colors weren't conducive to summer fruit so we made do with what we found. And by the way, we made these for under $5.00.
It was a fun afternoon with a cute new daughter-in-law.

Good job!! They are so cute!!! I can still remember how much you inspired me to sew Lauri...all of those years ago. I remember the darling bedrooms you had done for the kids. You are very talented!!!
Those are great! I think the last time I made a pin cushion was when I was in Girl Scouts! I sure could use a new pin Cushion! I'd like to know where you got the pattern. Thanks for sharing.
Love the pin cushions.

One of these days I have got to learn to sew.
So amazing! You are so crafty! I need to learn how to sew...there are so many things to make! I was so glad to see you the other day as well! I definitely missed you and the Whipples! You have an amazing family!
I want to get crafty but kids & heat are getting in the way. The crisp Autumn air will be here soon enough to inspire you! Great job! You should teach a crafty class! I would come.
