I have a terrible sweet tooth! My grandfather owned a bakery and I think I inherited his love for cookies, pies, and donuts. When I open the refrigerator or cupboard, I always go for the thing I can grab quickly...usually a cookie or piece of cake.
In order to fight the urge for sugar, I have found that if I cut up all of the vegetables when I bring them home from the grocery store, I am more likely to reach for them. The other benefit is that everything is all cut up for a salad if I want to make one. You can't believe how many vegetables I've eaten this past week.

Oh man, way to go. I'm inspired. I made cookies tonight and Collin hasn't had one while I think I've had 5.
You're right, having them all cut up and ready to go is the key. I am like you, only I am sure WAY worse! I would walk through fire for a cookie! LOVE sweets!
That's a really good idea. I'v heard it before, but never have followed it. I think I will try though!
Excellent post and a great idea! I have the same problem with sugar and not-so-healthy savory snacks. Lately I've been TRYING to go for the baby carrots in the fridge instead of the cookies in the cupboard. I was doing well with that until I happened to be in Target Saturday when they marked all the valentine candy down to 90% off...
I try to do that too, but it doesn't always work for me- I think about it, though! I am going shopping today- you have inspired me to keep it in view all ready to eat- thanks!!
OK, this is a great idea, I'm going to the market today and stocking up and then "cutting up" as soon as I get home. Thanks for the suggestion.
I want to reach in and grab some of those veggies right now. I am the sweet tooth girl for sure! But alas, it shows on me, where not so much on you!!
How come my vegetables don't look so pretty in my fridge? I want to come eat yours!
