Splat!

So today as I was driving to school, I drove by a flock of birds that were all sitting on a fence. As I approached, the entire flock took flight. Unfortunately, one of them was flying low...too low... and got caught in the grill of my car. Before I knew it, there were feathers everywhere and a big, black, dead crow right in my eye's view. I started screaming and ducked (as if it was going to fly right through my windshield and splat on my face).

Thankfully I didn't end up in a river....

Eww!!! I hit a bird the first week I got my license. I thought I had to repent. I felt so bad! So I made my friends get out and pluck a feather for a memory so we'd always remember that poor innocent bird. That feather stayed in my car for many years. I'm just now realizing how disgusting that is and how potentially disease infested my car could have been. Man.

In college, I hit a huge bird in Arizona and didn't know it was dangling from the grill as I drove all the way to Utah. I didn't discover my prize til I went outside to go to work the next day. I made a boy next door come and wrestle the carcass loose.
Too bad you didn't end up in a river. Maybe you could have been interviewed by Matt Lauer. That would have been cool.(The interview part, not the having to be rescued from the water part.)

It makes you realize how fragile life is. So glad you are okay.

That is to funny. I would have closed my eyes as well. I am glad you are okay though. Good luck cleaning that one up.

Spencer and I ran smack into a bird one time, too. It died on our windshield. Spencer, the animal lover, still feels bad about it. I just thought it was gross. I believe I ducked, too.

Thank goodness you weren't flying an airplane or you really would have ended up in the river.

Oh no! I once hit a quail. I felt so bad because she was crossing the street with her little babies!!! So sad. And a feather stuck to my windshield...
