This weekend, my mother-in-law celebrated her birthday (I'm sure she wouldn't want me to tell which one). She and I went to the Hale Center theater to see Music Man Saturday afternoon. It was a wonderful production and we LOVED it! Afterwards, we went out to dinner together. It was a fun afternoon/evening to spend together.
People often mistake me for one of her daughters; some people think Joan and I look a little alike. Joan is a wonderful woman who I have learned so much from over the years. She is a GREAT cook and I've never had a bad meal at her house. She is a gracious woman and always very generous. I am grateful for the relationship we share.
Sunday, we continued her birthday with a family dinner. Karla, my sister-in-law, and I took dinner (already prepared) along with dishes, table cloths, and dessert. We walked in and put everything on the table and sat down to eat. I think she enjoyed having everyone over but not having to prepare the meal...and we all enjoyed spending time with her.

That's so nice that you have a close relationship with your mother-in-law. I'm glad I have a great mother-in-law too! What would we do if we didn't like them! =)
That is very nice that you have a good relationship with your mil. And you do look alike a little bit too. When I first looked at the pictures I thought, oh that must be Lauri's mom. I bet she loved her dinner at her house. I would love it if someone did that for me every night!!
Does she know her picture is on the world wide web? She looks fantastic, but I bet she doesn't approve.

What a nice birthday celebration you had together. Isn't nice to have a mother-in-law that you enjoy being with? That is how I feel about Brent's mother also. Glad you had a good time.

Isn't it the best to love and appreciate your Mother in Law. We hear too many horror stories. I hope and pray that my sons and daughter's in law will feel the same. (I am accumulating kind of fast!). Good for you to show up with the food and all the set up and trimmings - so very thoughtful, so very YOU! Joan is blessed to have you!
