Friends in Low Places

I just started an on-line class this week. During the first week, we are supposed to sign on and introduce ourselves. There are 30 people in the class from all over the state and, in fact, all over the U.S. so I didn't take time to read all of the trivial stuff people post. However, one post, written directly to me caught my attention. It said simply, "could this possibly be my friend from California?" and it was signed Elizabeth Carlson.

Liz and I were friends in California and she moved out here about 2 years ago and lives not too far from where I live. We occasionally go on walks together and now evidently we are in a virtual classroom together. Doesn't she look studious?

What a small world! I love Liz! I commented awhile back on her blog, but never heard back. So if you read this Liz, HI!

I love Liz. I had forgot they had moved to Arizona. How fun that you are taking an online class together. Too bad you can't copy each others notes though.

Ok, is that the greatest text you've ever had. I love this teacher!!

And YES - you CAN copy my notes. I probably shouldn't have told you that I'm an A student and on the Dean's list, actually I'm at the top of the Dean's list, as a matter of fact the Dean called and asked if like to speak at graduation or some other noteworthy event where I could show off my mad academical skills. You're pretty lucky to know me.

And it's ok that you used the picture - there's no charge this time - we're friends.

If you notice she's getting A's, check and see if Amy's doing her homework. I say Amy because I charge these days...

Laurie,
I lost your phone number and was so excited to see a link to your blog on Jeanine's Fisher Crane's blog! (I got a link to her blog from my daughter Amber). Wow, seems like a Corona reunion. Your blog is great. Sounds like you are teaching now in your own classroom. How cool. Would love to go to lunch again. I am still looking for your phone number....
